(pecans, almonds, macadamia nuts, or walnuts)
1/4 c. real maple syrup
1/4 c. coconut oil
1/8 t. salt
1/8 t. cinnamon (opt.)
2-3 c. raw nuts of choice
Directions:
Heat a skillet over medium heat. Melt the coconut oil, then pour in remaining ingredients, stirring to coat nuts evenly. Cook for 3-5 minutes, stirring constantly. Remove from heat just when mixture starts to caramelize and smoke just a bit. Spread nuts out on a piece of parchment paper to cool.
I tried this recipe using raw almonds. They tasted exactly like the sugared cinnamon almonds you buy at sports events for $$. Thanks for the much less expensive,healthier version!
